Our efforts in Mexico and Uganda continue!
Our storage facilities are currently filled to the rafters with equipment ready to be delivered and/or shipped out to deserving children in need. Can you help? A $68 tax-deductible donation will provide complete baseball or soccer uniforms (including balls, excluding shoes) to an entire youth team in Mexico or Uganda. A photo of the team in their uniforms will be personally mailed to you once the uniforms have been delivered. To donate, click here for our Support page.
More Ways to Help Looking for a worthwhile project for your group, school, or organization? Would you like to directly benefit a community or school in need? We will provide tips and tools on how to conduct a successful sports equipment drive, along with a list of groups, organizations, and schools from around the world with their specific sports equipment needs that you can benefit directly...

Our sports equipment collection efforts have temporarily been suspended, as our warehouses are currently full, and we focus our energy on raising much needed funds to get our equipment out to where it's needed. Thank you for considering SWC for your sports equipment donations. If you have any questions, or are interested in shipping your sports equipment donations directly to an area/organization overseas in need, please contact us.

(NEW!) SWC Benefits School District Health and Sports Program
SEATTLE WA, October 26, 2011 SWC provided much needed sports equipment to the Sports and Intermurals Program of the Skykomish School District WA. The district serves a predominantly low-income area, with 69% of the students qualifying to receive free or reduced cost lunch, and 19% live below the poverty level. More Info (Coming soon!)
(NEW!) SWC Board Member Honored JACKSON CA, October 21, 2011 The Amador County Chamber of Commerce recognizes SWC board member, Martha Perez, with their Business Person of the Year Award. The honor is awarded to a successful business owner who has given their time to support the community and who is a great role model. More Info (Coming soon!)
July 9 & 10, 2011
SWC's 14th annual "They are Worthy" Benefit Softball Tournament, held in Daly City on July 9 and 10, 2011, at Westlake Park., was a great success. Approximately $3,100 was raised and donations of sports equipment were collected from participating players and teams, all to support SWC's "Communities Play" program. More Info & Results
(NEW!) SWC Benefits Youth After School Program
CHICAGO IL, March 25, 2011 SWC provided much needed sports equipment to the Heritage After School Program at Youth Crossroads, a nonprofit based in Berwyn IL. The program serves at-risk middle school students, ages 11-14, and provides life skills training, recreational activities, positive adult mentors, and academic assistance at no cost. (NEW!) SWC Benefits Girls' Softball Program
PARLIER CA, February 28, 2011 SWC provided much needed softball equipment to the recently established Predator Softball Program at the Youth Centers of America, a nonprofit based in Parlier CA. The program serves girls from low income families, ages 6-16, in six Fresno and Fresno County communities for a minimal cost of $20 per participant (covering only the league fee). More Info
SWC Benefits Program for Underserved Girls
ALBUQUERQUE NM, June 11, 2010 SWC provided much needed sports equipment to the TechGYRLS Camp program at the YWCA Middle Rio Grande, a nonprofit based in Albuquerque NM. The program serves girls in the Albuquerque area, ages 9-13, of which one in four lives in poverty. The goals of the program include developing communication and teamwork, building self confidence, and promoting good health and activity. More Info
April 19-27, 2008 "Following Freedom" Volunteer Trip to Mexico
10 volunteers from five (5) states helped deliver hundreds of pounds of much needed sports equipment to over 1,700 deserving kids in 17 different leagues, schools, and sports clubs in the communities of Caduano, Miraflores, El Cardonal, Buena Vista, Los Barriles, La Ribera, Las Cuevas (El Campamento), El Triunfo, Santa Cruz, San Bartolo, La Paz, Agua Escondida, Marquez de Leon, and Insurgentes. SWC Travels to Uganda to Support Girls' Soccer
March 12-29, 2008 In June of 2007, the Africa Youth Ministries submitted a Needs Application requesting sports equipment donations from SWC, as they have been trying to integrate sports into their HIV/AIDS, drug, teen pregnancy, and street kids education programs. Since then, we had been trying to find an opportunity to travel to Uganda during one of their sports programs in order to research their needs, with hopes of possibly organizing a future volunteer trip to Uganda to distribute equipment...

The Sports for the World’s Children Foundation and Hornblower Cruises Team Up to Benefit Children in Mexico SAN FRANCISCO CA, November 10, 2007 Despite the oil the spill, there are some good things happening on San Francisco Bay. On Friday, November 16, the Sports for the World’s Children Foundation (SWC) and Hornblower Cruises will embark on a 6-day ocean journey on the M/V Freedom to deliver hundreds of pounds of donated sports equipment to children in need in Mexico. 10th Anniversary Celebration Event Honors Volunteers and Supporters
Local radio station Alice Radio's morning DJ, "No Name," was the Master of Ceremonies at the early dinner event that celebrated 10 years of service, honored various organizational supporters and individual volunteers, and reunited volunteers from around the country.
